About Us

Our Mission

We are an organization whose primary mission is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of The Upper San Juan River and Pagosa Springs community parks experience through; education, recreation and environmental awareness.

Our Vision

Every year we work to be better stewards of our local river, parks and environment; while having fun and encouraging others to do the same. We host fun races, disc golf tournaments, whitewater competitions, as well as skateboarding and snow sport activities; all as fundraisers for improvement projects to the Upper San Juan River and Pagosa Springs Community Parks.

Current Project: Public River Access

We are pleased to announce that the board of FUSJR  and the Town and County of Pagosa Springs has successfully secured public river access on the San Juan River south of town so that private and commercial boating can continue use of the beautiful Mesa Canyon stretch.
